History - 2005

This year brought various women into my life, that were incredibly encouraging:

Judith Flemming – running and carrying on the Groton Heights Baptist Church ministry, through great transitions;
Gina Dyson – read my ideas and gave honest feedback;
Terri Thereault – read and edited the first drafts of the manual and meeting lesson plans;
Bethany Needham – approached her church and shared the idea of starting the BY ministry there;
Karla Charles – took the proposed idea and “ran with it” directing the first BY ministry year at Jaffrey Bible Church;
Sheryl Duncan – embraced the ideas and committed to BY in various ways, through thick and thin.

My goal throughout the year was to equip the churches with a well designed program and curriculum, so they could minister to their teen girls.

Almost up to date :) This spring we had our second ever teen girl conference, at Monadnock Bible Conference! What another amazing event, with over 250 teen girls!!! The Jaffrey Bible Church began their fourth year of club meetings, directed by Sheryl Duncan. Sheryl has taken this opportunity to stretch herself in teaching the devotional thoughts as well as direct the club. The Beautiful You group is enjoying this year’s theme of "Beauty from the inside-out" . The wellness highlights will focus on various aspects of physical beauty (skin care, hair care, nutrition, etc...) It has been a real blessing to be able to connect teen girls with women who can share in these various aspects of beauty! My hope is to take the next step, and present the manuals and Beautiful You concept to publishers. Therefore, making this ministry available to anyone interested. Beauty and the Bubble Bath

  Beauty and the Bubble Bath What is Beauty?  Where does it come from?  What makes a person beautiful?  Is it their appearance, their attitude, or both?  Think of someone that you think is truly beautiful.  What makes them beautiful?  Is it their hair, their skin, their perfect figure?  Or is it their heart, their caring and compassionate nature, their gentle and quiet spirit?  Man vs. God:   We are bombarded by voices everywhere, each one expressing an opinion about our worth or what we must do to be beautiful, to be accepted and to be loved.  (like the latest fashion magazines & beauty tends) Where else do some of these “voices” come from? How many of us are honest enough to say that we sometimes believe the lies that the voice of “man” tells us?  I know I have struggled with this! Beauty in Appearance and Hair Care

We present ourselves through actions and attitude, or our presentation can be merely through our looks.  How important is appearances?  Question:  Are people so distracted by how we look, that they miss who we are? What is “Outward appearance”? According to definition:  Appearance is the look or outward aspect of a person or thing, an outward show; pretense to maintain an outward show of being proper, prosperous, etc… [1Peter 3:3-4 NIV] 3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
